W.C.T.U. met Oct. 18 at the home of Mrs. W.J. Neely. The meeting was opened by the song "Lead On Oh King Eternal." Devotionals were in charge of Mrs. Phillips who read selections from the Scriptures Isaiah and Lamentations. Secretary's report read and approved. Miss Bailey reported the arrival of the second 1000 stickers and that stickers had been sent to different towns among which West Branch was included. Mrs. Watland reported that at altho many stickers had been given out many were not used. She urged everyone just to give to those who would use them. Miss Bailey moved to carry on the same work on essays and poster contests as had been done heretofor. Seconded by Mrs. Stoakes. Motion carried. Motion made by Mrs. Humphrey, seconded by Miss bailey to order 1000 blotters to be distributed in schools. Motion carried. Motion made by Mrs. Watland seconded by Mrs. Waters to continue subscribing for Union Signal for use in Stewart Library. Motion carried. We were then favored by a song by Mrs. Mitchell "It is in the Constitution and it's there the stay". Mrs. Watland suggested that Mrs. Mitchell sing this song at all churches in near future. The meeting was turned over to Rev. Vittum who dealt with Prohibition, it's struggles in early days and what it has accomplished. At the close of the talk Mrs. Mitchell sang two selections "Ultimatum to Candidates" and "God Help us to mark Dry Ballots." Both were very appropriate at this time. Miss Bailey announced the speech by Ida B. Wise Smith Nov. 6, 1932. Meeting closed by the Benediction. Mrs. George E. Lincoln Sect.
