87 August 1923-continued A great effort has been made this year to prohibit the placement of a liquor store in our county. A communication was sent by Miss Butler and Mrs Geo. Lincoln to the liquor commission asking their cooperation. The reply to our request was that it would be considered before the placement of one. Miss Butler was our delegate to the State Convention and to the Regional conferance at Omaha. Forty bouquets were given to the Hospitals and Shut-ins by the flower mission and members of the W.C.T.U. Text cards were sent to the Juvenile Home in Toledo instead of flowers this year. One change in officers took place this year by the resignation of the Treasurer-Mrs John C. Lincoln and the election of Mrs Robert Lincoln to fill the vacancy. Mrs George Lincoln-Sec. August report, continued from p. 85. Motion made by Miss Bailey, seconded by Mrs. Mitchell that Miss Butler be sent as a delegate to the State Convention. Motion carried. Motion made by Ada Park, seconded by Mrs. Kearney, that Mrs. Hamilton present the matter of placing "Syllabus" in each school. Motion carried. Miss Park read some paragraphs concerning the happenings of the world conference at Stockholm, Sweden. It was suggested by Mrs. Kearney and Miss Sherman, that we use material from our W.C.T.U. papers more, in programs for the coming year. Miss Baily made some comments on conditions now existing in Grinnell. Meeting adjourned after repeating the benediction. (Signed) Mrs. George Lincoln-Sec.
