121 Nov. 1935---cont. Mrs. Denham herself will pay for the copies of Syllabus, but she herself will have to wait awhile before getting reimbursed; maybe this isn't the way. Maybe she just gets the books on credit and the library fund eventually will furnish the money. Mrs. Gregson suggested that we offer a prize for the best temperance display at the 4H fair. No action taken. We voted that Mrs. Gregson and Miss Butler should go to see Mr. Humphrey. Mrs. Lincoln reported what the W.C.T.U. did financially 22 years ago, when Miss Bailey was treasurer. The treasurer's report 22 years ago in Nov. was $189.25. Mrs. Gregson says the county money taken to the state convention makes Miss Jennie Bailey the first "Continuing Member" in the State of Iowa; a higher honor than merely life member. Also makes Mrs. Molison and Miss Butler life patrons. Miss Bailey and Miss Butler received documents from the Poweshiek[?] County Union. Miss Bailey says when we are asked how many people were present when we voted on any particular motion, we should say "The action was taken at our regular monthly meeting,' and also should say, "We belong to the National W.C.T.U. which has a million members/" A bill was presented for for expense of first delegate at State Convention. Carfare 1 50 room 3 00 Meals & banquet 2 35 _________________ $6 85 This bill was allowed. Voted to send for Union Signal and Crusader for the Library.
