November 1936. The W.C.T.U. met in Nov. with Mrs.William Hamilton. There were 16 present. October minutes were approved, Mrs. Hadley presiding. Devotions were made by Ada Park. Reposts were called for Edna Sherman reported that six had paid for the Union Signal. Mrs.Hadley said free subscription had come for six months. Mrs.Watland said she had told them to count in what she had paid. Mrs.Gregson said she had paid for here at the convention. Miss Sherman had sent some money. Mrs.German reported that the barrel had contained 54 quarts and 10 pints, including a variety of kinds. It cost 29c to bring the empty barrel back. The cost of sending the fruit brought the sum total of the bill to $1.94 we voted to allow this bill. Miss Baily asked if we might have essays this year. Voted to discuss this after we heard the report, as the report might touch on the subject. Mrs.Gregson asked us to sing America. Then she gave us a report on the State Convention at Sioux City. She said the state of Iowa is entitled to send 16 delegates to the National Convention which will be Washington, D.C. Mrs.Gregson asked Mrs.E.Paul Jones what Miss Samuelson had done or would do about ordering the Syllabus used in the schools. Mrs.Jones said Miss Samuelson will take that up at the State Teachers Association as to making the Syllabus a State issue. The W.C.T.U. state president receives $900.00 per year. The Corresponding Secretary $500.00 The Treasurer $300.00 The Vice President used to receive $50.00. This year none. The new state president is Mrs.Harriette G. McCullough of Des Moines. The v.p.
