1942 Sept. 1942- The Sept. meeting was held with Mrs. Walters. Mrs. Mitchell presided. Miss Sherman read from Psalms 13 9. Minutes read and approved. Discussion of sugar rationing and the cause, led by Mrs. Walters. Letter from the Hospital asking us to help. Mrs. Mitchell suggested that we do some mending. Mrs. Stewart told of the movie she had seen on her vacation, "Mrs. Miniver." She spoke so highly of it as a sweet, wholesome, story, showing the kind things Mrs. Miniver did that the W.C.T.U voted endorsement of the play which will soon be shown here. The Society adjourned early and went as a group to call on our former member Mrs. C.S. George at their Golden Wedding Anniversiary. Minutes taken by Mrs. Stewart and brought next day to the Secy. Ada Park. W.C.T.U. MET WITH MRS. ANNA WATTERS THe September meeting of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held with Mrs. Anna M. Watters. Mrs. George E. Mitchell presided, and Miss Edna Sherman read the devotions. Mrs. W. J. Stewart gave a report on the movie, "Mrs. Miniver," which she saw and greatly enjoyed during her recent vacation trip in the east. This is a very sweet story, showing the many kind acts administered by Mrs. Miniver wherever she happened to be. The picture is soon to be shown in Grinnell, and Mrs. Stewart urged all to see it.
