August 1945. The August meeting was held August 21 at the U. P. church. Rev. W. J. Stewart, who read the words of several hymns. The program was given by Ada Park. Mrs. Jackson presided. The minutes of the July meeting were read, amended and approved. Mrs. Jackson said she felt she could not accept her nomination as president, but was persuaded to say she would serve till some one else could be secured. report of nominating committee was read and voted upon and adopted. Mrs. McBlain suggested we have 2 public programs a year, spring and fall. Secretary read a note from the Lincoln family acknowledging our card of condolence. We voted to subscribe for the Union Signal for Mrs. Mitchell and write her a note of appreciation for her long services. Voted that Mrs. Hannah Morgan be made 8th Vice President, thus representing the church of which she is a member. Announcement was made that one of our WCTU members, Miss Lucia Peirce, has moved to the home of Mrs. Losh, at 927 Center Street, Where there is a telephone # 2541. Adjourned. Ada Park, Secretary.
