1956 Dec 18 W.C.T.U met with Mrs. A. C. Jones on 6th Ave with fourteen present - Vice Pres. Miss Kiester in charge. Mrs. Saville had the devotions - the scripture reading - from Matthew 2-1-10 verses; several Christmas Carols were sung, accompanied by Mrs Krumm at the piano. Mrs. Jones lead in prayer - After salute to flags the business meeting followed: It was suggested, all write Ex. Gov. Haig for his stand against liquor - also write to other Congressman. Program followed - in charge - was Mrs. Krumm who spoke on "Some secrets of Prayer" - Mrs. Beattie read the chapter from the study book - "Awake or we Perish" - from "The Christian Case for Abstinence." Discussions on Driving and Drinking closed meeting adjournment - Christmas Cards were to be sent to Shut-ins - Grace L. Foster Sec- 1957 Jan 15 The W.C.T.U. met with Mrs. Rose Martz 610 - Main St with a good attendance. Mrs. A Sevenbergen had devotions reading from Phillipians 3-12-14 - The worship "Theme" was "Begining Again" - followed by prayer - Mrs. Edythe Lynch in charge of program. Salute to flags was followed by business meeting - due to illness of secretary no minutes were read of last meeting & the sec pro tem failed to report. Grace L. Foster Sec Feb 19. W.C.T.U. met at the home of Mrs. Sage with eighteen members and guests present. In the absence of Pres and Vice Pres. Mrs. Beattie kindly took charge, The Worship Theme - "Women and Her Community" - using the notable women of the Bible. The song 'O, Master let me Walk with Thee was sung by group - Mrs. Hagenlock followed by an article on "Youth Delinquency" - Mrs. Whitely, Mrs Adams and Mrs Krumm put on a skit "Rich Fruits From a Timely Visit was enjoyed - Mrs Beattie read news notes from Union Signal - and Mrs. Parish - the Chapter "Drink or not to Drink" from Study Book. then Miss Kiester took over business meeting - salute to flags etc. A motion by Mrs McBlain and 2nd by Mrs. Ewing that $2.00 be sent to Francis Willard Fund, Lillian Stevens fund $8.00 - To the Legislative Fund - and $7.75 to Light Line (continued on next page)
