392 Hands." The minutes of Sept. meeting were read and approved. The penny-a-day boxes were shown and some of those present received these boxes. The treasurer reported $31.00 on hand, but no dues have been sent. Mrs. Allan reported again on the state convention for the benefit of the guests present. Mrs. Pepora reported on legislation pending. Mrs. Adams read an article "The Great Remover," and poems entitled "The Drunken Driver" and "What Would He Say?" After the closing prayer by Mrs. Adams, the movie "Berky" was shown, and lunch was served. W.C.T.U. met on Nov. 16 with Eva Pepoon. After a song and pledges to flags, we were led in devotions by Mable Morgan. She used as her theme "Grant us Wisdom, Lord," using scriptures I Kings 3:5-7 and Prov. 3:5, 6. She read a Thanksgiving poem. Mrs. Adams also read a poem "We Give Thee Thanks." Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. Treasurer reported $14.00 in treasury. There were comments on what we are doing. An article - "A Massacre Needed to Arouse the Public" was presented. Another card was signed to be sent to Eloise Keister. The program was presented by Mrs. Allen. There was "Progress through Understanding." She related stories of people who had become problem drinkers and statements made by physicians concerning the alcohol problem. She emphasized the responsibility of church members toward the problem. Mrs. Warner reviewed the purpose and activities of a Y.T.C. group. Certain leaflets were reconsidered to be purchased for distribution to children and youth meeting was dismissed by prayer. Lunch was served by the hostess. W.C.T.U. met with Agnes Sage at 2:00 P.M. on Dec. 21. Lela Adams presiding. After pledges to the flags, we were led in devotions by Edythe Lynch. This included songs, scripture from Isa. 9 and Luke 2, followed by comments from the Champion, a poem, and prayer. She was assisted by Lela Adams who lighted candles to illustrate. The minutes of Nov. meeting were read and approved, also a card of thanks from the Eva Gregson family. The program leader was not present but the progressive leaflets were read by different ones, and discussed. After the concluding prayer, the hostess served refreshments.
