June 20, 1972 Our W.C.T.U. group met in the home of Lela Adams. The president Eloise Keister led us in the pledges to the American Christian and Temperance flag salutes. Nellie Lincoln was the devotional leader "Christ's Love" for all people taken from John 10:-1-11 verses I am the good "Shepherd." Our song was "Oh Master Let Me Walk with Thee." Lela's canary helped us with our music. Lela read a note about using the flag properly and not as decals on car bumpers. She read the paraphrase for teachers from I Corinthians about loving their school children. They should not be ridiculed or looked down to if a teacher can help it. She also gave the statement by John Ruskin; Education does not mean teaching people what they do not know. It means teaching them to behave as they do not behave. ??? Carol read the article Decency Day! Let's have no foul language or awful stories for one day. We should respect the other persons property and ask the good Lord to help us keep decent. Jennie Cassidy is noted for her Flower Mission work, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born into a religious, refined, educated family on June 9, 1840. After her accident she was given a telephone and she would also write to see that poor and unfortunates had food, clothing and flowers. Flower Missions were started in many states.
