Sept 23, 1975 Our W.C.T.U. met in the home of Rev and Mrs. Myron Harris Eloise Keister our president opened the meeting with out three flag salutes: American, Christian and Temperance. Mrs. Harris had the devotions. Fools make a mockery of sin. Solomon tried to test everything. The Bible was written by men inspired by God. God helps us and we appreciate this W.C.T.U. Rev. Harris took his report from Proverbs XX. Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging and whoever is deceived thereby is not wise. Lot? was Abraham's nephew. They argued so Lot? and family went to live in Sodam? and Gomorrah?. Abraham prayed that they'd be saved. Many Hawaiians take the juice from the coconut tree and let it ferment then they get drunk. America is known as the most drunk nation in the world. A 100 lb. girl has only 2/3 as much blood as a 150 lb. boy. If they drink the same amount she may become drunk and the boy doesn't. One doctor saw destroyed in many people and he quit drinking liquor. 85% men in an institution who committed crimes had been drinking. There is $17 billion spent each year on liquor. One reason too much permissiveness and the drinking age lowered to 18 years. Secretary's report read and approved. Nellie Lincoln the treasurer handed in her yearly report.
