December 18 1917 The Grinnell W.C.T.U. meeting opened by singing America the Beautiful and the National Anthem of America. Miss Brownell Read a scripture lesson and led in prayr. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Miss Lincoln announced the passage of the National Constitutional Amendment by Congress on Dec. 17. She told of the Stereomotograph for Iowa and ask for volunteers to raise $10 or more to help pay for it $6 were pledged. Miss Buck reported that the Benedict Home Barrel arrived safely. Mrs brand had the programe National plans and Legislation. She gave an encouraging review of laws passed last year The Bone dry Law Law against liquor adds. A Great Health Campaign is to be Launched by the Combined Churches to help 3000000 sick People she ask us to help by observing the noontide Prayer we approve the action of the Council to close the Sunday Picture shows. sec The W.C.T.U. met on Han 15, 1918 with 15 present After Singing Work for the night is Coming Mrs [Sopher?] read a psalm and led in prayr song "O master let ne walk with thee" As the sec. was absent the minutes were omitted. Mrs Lincoln spoke of the Steromotorgraph $1.00 was pledged by Mrs Roberts. Miss Buck [Supt.?] of Sci. Tern. Department reported on Prize Essay. And recomended that one move Quarterly be taken. Voted to offer $3.00 for Prize for High school Essay. Voted to have a special prayr meeting Jan 24. Mrs Roberts of Ewart had the Programe on Health of our Soldiers in Camps she made an Earnest plea to stop sending tobacco to them. Meeting closed by repeating the Mizpah. Asst. Sec.
