The W.C.T.U. met Dec 16-1919 at the assembly room in the Grinnell Savings bank. With 18 in attendance. Meeting opened by singing 'Onward Christian Soldiers" let by Mrs Woodburn. The devotional service was conducted by Mrs. Hamilton. She selected for the scripture reading 17 verse of the fifteenth chapter of John and as this meeting preceeded [sic] Chrstmas she read ten versus [sic] of the tenth chapter of Matthew. Mrs Sopher, Mrs. Woodburn, Mrs Lincoln and Mrs Hamilton offered prayers in behalf of the Unions needs. Our president eulogized the Women of this organization commending them for the sweet spirit, kindness and sisterly love that always seems to exist. Secretary's report was read for Oct. and approved. Report for Nov. was read after two corrections it stood approved. Miss Buck gave a brief report of finances, giving twelve dollars in treasurer. Expenses for drayage and freight for sending barrel to Des Moines was allowed it amounting to $1.02,. (Value of barrel sent $40) A bill of $9.00 was allowed to Mrs. Woodburn for program expense. Mrs Emma Baily thanked the Union for sending her to Council Bluffs. Mrs. Sticks showed her appreciation for being elected a life member. She read a letter in behalf of the Armenian orphans - a committee comprising of Mrs. Sticks, Mrs. Lincoln and Mrs Kearney was appointed by the president to look after these matters. Our president urged that we observe the first birthday of the ratification by a jubilee meeting. It was moved by Mrs Lincoln that we observe the day Friday Jan. 16-1920. A committee was appointed to confer with the preachers in regard to the program. >Mrs Buck Mrs Woodburn and Mrs. [Sifker?]
