160 The August 19, 1924 meeting met in the Congregational church Mrs H.V. Griffith being unable to entertain the Union at her home on account of physical weakness after being at the hospital. The president called the meeting to order, After the reading of the scriptures and seasons of prayer the usual business was transacted. W.C.T.U. songs were sung. Then after a short program the election of officers was proceeded with which resulted in Mrs. Robert Lincoln, as president Mrs. G.W. Richards as secretary and Miss Harriet Buck treasurer for the ensuing year. Meeting adjourned by the repeating of the mizpah. A goodly number present. Mrs. GW Richards sec. The September 16, 1924 meeting of the W.C.T.U. met with Mrs. John Lincoln, on the third Tuesday of this month. with an attendance of forty. Mrs Effie Stocks had charge of the devotionals. She read the fifty fifth chapter of Isaiah "The calling of the gentiles. Prayers were ascended asking God blessing on the efforts being put forth to eliminate evil. Crusade songs were sung. After which minutes were read and approved Mrs Hess was made life member with Mrs. G.H. Richards making $20 Thanks offering. Delegates for the state convention at Cedar Rapids wer nominated. namely Mrs. Words, Mrs. Stocks, Mrs. Lincoln, Miss Childs, Mrs German, Mrs. Richards, Mrs. Cole and Watland. Alternatives - Mrs. Hockett, Mrs Lane, Mrs. Stoakes, Mrs. J.J. Mullins, Mrs Woodburn
