166 The W.C.T.U met at the Baptist church the third Tuesday of December 16, 1924 This occasion was one of unusual interest it being the fiftieth anniversary of the organization. The first meeting being held at the Baptist church. Rev. Carmen had charge of devotionals - a crusade song was sung following the reading of the scripture. He read the the twelth chapter of Hebrews exhorting and emphazing the contents of the verse Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses let us lay aside, every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Let this race be according to God's plan. In connection with the scripture above mentioned he show, our attention to John 4:38. The devotionals were concluded by a song Faith of Our Fathers and prayer. A very short business session persued The chair appointed Mrs. Watland Mrs. Lord and Stocks for program committee Mrs. Hamilton was president pro tem She called on our president to talk on The secret of our work. It was offisially decided to contribute $5.00 to the "Good fellow fund". $1.75 allowed for she book that Mrs. Watland presented to the union A solo Victory was sung by Rev Carmen appropriate song that was highly appreciate by all. Miss Jennie Baily gave a brief history of the union since its first meeting The history of our WCTU was of special interest and covered over the many achievments that have been acomplished Mrs Stocks continued the reminesence of events that were of especial interest We were priveleged to listen to a very interesting report from Mrs E M Kearney and Mrs. G.O. Watland of the Chicago
