Dear children I now sit down to wright A few lines to you we received Henrys letter night before last and was sorry to Hear hat Uimena was sick the Weather has been to warm for comfort here last week but it is cooler now Joseph Hicks is up Here and Aunt deborah is agoing Home with him He lives in rome and teaches skool in new london six miles Away they went down to levay today to see grand mother she is quite feeble this Hot weather we Have lots of [wortles?] berries the plains is covered with berries and with folks too now I will commence About the things in the [boxe?] the weather Has been so warm that that I am affraid that the sugar cakes will be melted them old coats that we took too mind the buggy with take for carpets rags tell stella that her dress is not verry nice but it will doo to ware to skool it is not nice enough to wear to grand pa [illegible]
