I enquired of him as minutely as I was able about all the business entrusted to him I find that as to Gardner Cooper & Aaron Griffen they are both responsible I have given their notes signed by both of them for the following sums $25 to be paid in October next 25 February next 20 by the 1st of May next & two notes one for 42.38 & the other for $46.42 both payable the tenth of May 1825, from what I could learn of them I think they will be prompt in their payments With respect to Tyrrol Osgood says he has a reluctance to giving a bond & mortgage & has not taken a deed but intends this fall to pay the whole & then take his deed, from what information I got from Osgood & from the Landlord where I stayed I find this Tyrrel is a very stirring thorough man. Nathan Marshall is somewhat embarrassed in his circumstances by being obliged to take back a farm he sold he has received no deed as yet, he intends to move on the land this fall. & to make such payments as will entitle him to a deed I rather think he will, for the land is worth a great deal more than he now owes for it & he has been very industriously employed all summer.
