Harris sets out tomorrow for the Plains I write by him & should have done so sooner but he delayed returning from day to day, I received your letter and also one for John Merritt enclosing a Subpoena for me, & if he accepts of the terms I have proposed to him I shall set out so as to arrive at Pokeepsie on Monday of Court week. He wants that pains should be taken to get Tupper there & I should also be glad to have him as I should feel unpleasant to be the sole witness he also wishes me when I go down to get the money on the Denton notes, & he would sacrifize something to obtain it. I shall set out so as to be in Albany one day & intend to get licensed as Solicitor in Chancery, My Office as Master renders it nececcary that I should acquaint myself with Chancery business & I also find it is the bast part of a lawyers practice & for which he gets best paid, I have lately had occasion to go over to Cayuga & was there two days, so that I find my office will be worth a little something. On my return I stopt a short time in Ovid & saw the Kinneys & Dentons they were all
