cannot command respect. Not withstanding my situation in pecuniary affairs I am not dismayed or discouraged - If I cant pay I tell them so and tell them I won't until I am able - and I suffer nothing, not even the reccollection of the past to disturb my tranquility in the least. I have I believe a facility in acquiring friends and true ones and they seem to [report?] trust & confidence in me. I am treated in this place with all the respect that any one is & shall in future attempt not only to deserve but preserve it - Again I say father forgive me and you shall have occasion to be proud of your son. Affectionately yours, Henry Eno Stephen Eno P.S. I write this by Mr Winans in a great hurry. I will write again more at large.
