am undecided about it at the present - I shall have to attend the Wayne circuit which is the third monday April & should I conclude to come home shall start from there - I am a going next week to Ithaca on a little business and having staid at home all winter am revolved to indulge myself a little with seeing the country - I received a newspaper from Rufus with an enclosure of a map of a field which is I suppose of his own surveying. I was extremely gratified at seeing it as it is a very favorable specimen of his improvement - I also think he cannot do better than resolve to be a good surveyor and good farmer - it is the surest road to wealth - ensures good health & a robust constitution and is withal the noblest employment - I wrote a letter to William's little boy some short time since - I was not sure however that he could read it - but I thought it would please him and perhaps excite his ambition which cannot be implanted in a person too early - good impressions receive in early life are apt to be the most lasting there is an excellent little work, called (Parleys Magazine) which would be an excellent thing for him the price is only one dollar - per year, and if subscribed for in his name would learn him a great deal - When I return from Ithada I will again write - I have written a long rambling letter without aiming at elegance of style but just as thoughts occurred have given them to paper give my love to William his wife & boy remember me to Rufus & my cousins - I am Yours affectionately Henry Eno Stephen Eno
