Oliver says [?elah] has had a hard time of it this spring he could not get onny meal for the cows he had not enough money to buy with and Fred would not trust him nor naylor either he thinks he will not have hay enough and has not made much butter and [mae] [m] [wants] him to trust him for that he thinks this a hard nation Oliver has fun over it butter is not very high now 14 cents is the highest I am keeping 14 cows this year and am raising six calves they are good ones to I am going to rais my cows instead of buying. times are getting some better money more plenty produce of all kinds sell but not high exept some thing wheat is [Null] at $1.00 Barley is worth a $1.00 corn 60 cts Potatoes 50 cts oats 40 flax seed is worth $2.00 grass seed is from $1.50 to $2.00 hay $5.00 per ton. I can not writ much more wrte me soon as you can we miss you vary much but friends can not all ways be to gathe. I hope to meet you agan upon the shore of tim if not I hope to meet you in heaven. give our respect to Climena and the rest of your folk our children talk a good deal about Climena and the baby and wonder how it will look when thay see her again from your Brother J H Child
