76 Denison Iowa. May 10th 1879 The Denison Total Abstinence Union met pursuant to adjournment. President in the chair. Meeting opened with singing. Minutes of the last meeting read and approved. Miss Lina Bond then favored the Club with a recitation. Miss Hattie McAkren reported not prepared with select reading as per programmed. A. F. French, A. C. Smith and Miss Hattie Harris absent. Mr Sane of Canada favored the meeting with select reading. Mrs Weldon then offered to read a selection. Programme for the next meeting Question for debate: Resolved that the United States would be benefited by allowing the women to vote on the Liquor Question. Speakers on the affirmative. Mrs Weldon, Negative R. Shawvan. The speakers to choose their own assistants. Select reading by Mr. Partridge Speech by Mr. French. Meeting adjourned A. F. Bond Secretary
