82. preparation for the trip it was evidently advisable for me to also have a gastro-intestinal analysis. The x-rays taken by the village physician were negative but there obviously was an acid condition. I was put on sippy powders. Still not feeling satisfied with the diagnosis our good friend - our trustworthy and ever conscientious family physician and councillor, referred me to a Denver doctor. Our family advisor unfortunately is a specialist in another field so his services could not be procured. The x-rays from the second gastro-analysis were again negative. The diagnosis included a treatment for colitis and suggestions for broadening the diet. "You aren't eating enough food - not enough variety", I was told. "Eat everything, three squares a day, even if it does hurt". But fortunately for me - I have always somehow felt - we soon left on our world trip and sailed peaceably across the wide cerulean-blue Pacific to the orient in the Siberia [illegible] of the Nippon Yusleon Kushi line. It was decidedly wise to be cautious with foods from then on. It was definitely not possible to eat everything. We were restricted to those foods which had been adequately cooked in the preparation and to the fruits we could ourselves peel. There was usually any variety to choose from that were agreeable to me and that I liked. Usually I got along fine and wasn't too tempted with those foods I myself had learned were the forbiddens and therefore to be avoided. Invariably,
