I thought If you could let him have say five hundred dollas, I would let him have as much more, if that meets your views it would be perfectly safe Each on take a note [of?] mortgage for the amt Loand. you could trust me to attend to the business and I would send you the note [&?] mortgage it seems to me it would safer for you than a Loan is out where you are. By the way how much money can you command at this time. If there is any thing else you can suggest that I can do for you let me know. Have you any time fixed in your mind when you think you will come home. From your Father &c S G Finney
