84 The Misses Alta & Elva Emerson were hostesses to the Cary Club, Monday afternoon Sept. 19 - Twelve members responded to roll call with quotations many of which were by either Alice or Phoebe Cary. Mrs. A. E. Blinks, Chairman of this year's program committee told the club members that the desired object of her committee was, First, Quotations given for roll call should be by author listed on program for that day, and secondly, that it was up to the members themselves to make it an interesting Club year. Mrs. Wilson told about the book from which she and Mrs Carey had acquired material for the afternoon program. This book, "Memoirs of Alice and Phoebe Cary" was presented to Mrs. T. R. Alexander, a former and much beloved member of the club by Mrs. H. L. J. McClellan, wife of an early Supt. of Marion Schools It was the wish of Mrs. Alexander that this book should become the property of the Cary Club after her death Her daughter, Miss Mabel Alexander,
