98 March 20-'39 Mrs. Clara Wilson was hostess to the Cary Club. Twelve members responded to roll call with quotations from Robert Lewis Stevenson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. It was decided that Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Fernow would give the "History of the Cary Club" at the June 5th meeting. Mrs. Seger & Mrs. Bragg were appointed to serve as a com. to work with those appointed from the Ameigo, Jennyson and Sorasis Club for a "Federated benefit." Mrs. Seger had the lesson on the life of Stevenson, British essayist, poet and novelist. Mrs. Seger read the beautiful poems in "A Childs Garden of Verses." Among his best known books are "Treasure Island" and "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Current events were discussed by the members. -The meeting closed to meet with Mrs. Winter April 3rd.
