April 17-'39 The Cary Club met with Mrs. O. S. Fernow. Nine members responded to roll call with quotations from Shakespeare. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mrs. Seger reported that there was to be a benefit recital at the Methodist Church Apr. 20th. The proceeds are to be use to help redecorate the city club room. # Substituting for Mabelle Beeson, Mira Woodward read a description of the locality of Shakespeare's country and of Ann Hathaway's cottage, also a tribute to his writings and a "Sketch of Shakespeares Life." Current Events were given and discussed by the members. The club adjourned to meet May first. Mira Woodward secy P.T. # The members voted to send a plant to Mrs. Waffle. Mrs. Seger appointed Mrs. Phelps to order the plant.
