Dubuque Iowa July 23rd 1849 My dear Sir, I thank you for your fav. of the 11th inst, just recd, & for its inclosure, the two blank dfts. I presume I shall not have to use either of them & will probably return them, in pro pers in Nov. next. We are very much grieved to learn that my good friend, Miss Marice, was indisposed, at the time of your writing & sincerely hope that she will have entirely recovered ere this. We anticipate much pleasure in the society of your interesting & most hospitable family next winter & for this reason I will do all I can to induce my colleague & his father, as we intend to board to-gether, to take rooms at Mrs Miso's or some other good boarding house near to your residence as we can find.
