Harris Emery's Auditorium. Feb. 5 1921 11 A.M. Official Board of the Iowa League of W. Voters was called to order by state chairman Mrs. Walter Brown. Secretaries report read and accepted. Moved, seconded and carried that treasurers report be temporarily postponed. Moved by Mrs. Devitt that stationary be printed with names of officials and heads of departments and that names of district chairmen be added by local printers and bill for such work be paid from state treasury. Mrs. Mayer seconded - carried. Mrs Mayer gave detailed report on citizenship schools. Dean Mac Kay presents plan for summer schools. Mrs Rusty suggest that citizen ship should and could be better taught in high schools and grades because many pupils leave school in the grades and many more go no further than high school.Dr Mills moves that citizen ship school be continued as in past year. Mrs.Ruff seconds - carried. Mrs. Devitt moved that chairman appoint from state Board a com. not fewer than five whose chair man of Citizen ship shall be permanent chairman to confer with schools and colleges of the state with regard to holding school of citizenship. Dean Mac Kay spoke to the motion and seconded it unanimously carried. Mrs. Denison corresponding secretary gave report of treasurer and moved that it be accepted and placed in file. Moved by Mrs. Mayer that Mrs Rusti be reimbursed to the extent of two dollars thirty five cents for bill paid by her for the League. seconded - carried. Dr. Mills reminded those present of the need of money to finance state League and that we must fulfill pledges to National. Mrs. Mayer moved that the money be sent to fulfill obligation to National at once. Seconded by Dr Mills carried. Recess for luncheon. [illegible] 30. Mrs. Devitt gave short talk on 9-50 hr. Bill. Mrs. Devitt authorized by unanimous vote to represent the L of W.V. before the legislature in the matter under discussion. Mrs. Fred Hunter moved that the League finance Mrs. Devitt in the matter not to exceed $100.00. Seconded by Dr. Mills carried. This money not salary but to help defray necessary expenses. Her work is her gift to the L. of W.V. The following resolution was offered by Mrs. Max Mayer. Resolved the League of W.V. in ex. session express appreciation of Gov. Kendalls recognition for service by [illegible] splendid appointment of women on state Boards. Unanimously carried. adjourned.
