May 13 - 1921 Semi annual meeting of the League of women Voters called to order by Chairman - Mrs. Brown - at 11 - A.M. Those present were Mrs. Brown - Mrs. Van Alstine - Mrs. Passig - Dr. Zella White Stuart - Mrs. Knutson - Mrs. Carey, Mrs. Dante Pierce, Mrs. Koch - Mrs. Mayer for the board meeting Minutes of last meeting were read and accepted. Report of Treasurer was read. Amount of money in hand in hand in treasury is $597.17 Dr. Zella White Stuart moved that we accept the report as read - seconded - carried The request of the National treasurer that states send yearly pledges in quarterly instalments was reported. Moved, seconded, and carried that Iowa League comply with this request. Treasurer instructed to send three hundred dollars at the end of each quarter to Nat. treasurer. Moved seconded and carried that chairman appoint four members of the League who with herself will form a committee to work out a plan for financing the League of Women Voters. Mrs Knutson gave the report sent by Mrs. Ruff concerning the committee on Election Laws. Mrs. Ruff having reached home only that day previous to their meeting sent a written report. Mrs. Brown gave short address reviewing events of past winter - particularly mentioning things accomplished by legislature and congratulating us upon our more comfortable financial footing. Mrs [illegible] of [Maryland?] who is a member of the Interdepartmental Social Hygiene Board in Washington arrived, also several other women. Adjourned for luncheon.
