Nov. 22 - 1921. The Annual Meeting of the Iowa League of Women Voters was called to order by Mrs. Walter S. Brown at 4.P.M. Nov. 22 in the Ft. Des Moines Hotel. State President opened the meeting with a short address. The report of the credentials committee was given by Mrs. Delmedge - Voting strength 84. Miss Harsh gave a short report of convention arrangements and gave appreciation to the help of the Chamber of Commerse - to Harris Emery Co. and to others. Mrs. Paige of Minneapolis thanked the League of Iowa for the hospitality shown National officers - District officers and other guests outside the state. Mrs. Brown appointed as tellers for the annual election of officers - Mrs. Lim - Mrs. Ruff, Mrs Snyder. Mrs. Brown announced in Nov. 21 - that are ammendment to the constiution would be offered on the following day. The informed ballot for State Chairman resulted in the nomination of Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Pierce. Mrs. Brown declined the nomination and Mrs. Pierce was elected Pres.While the election of officers continues other business is being carried on. Mrs. Howell offered the following ammendment to the constitution of the Iowa League of Women Voters that no legislative work shall be undertaken by any committee without the approval of the executive board. seconded - carried. Moved - seconded and carried that personal pledges be placed to the credit of the county from which they came. Mrs. Passig moved that in the succeeding balloting if any candidate receive a majority of the votes cast that the informed ballot be made formal and the candidate be declared elected. seconded - carried. Mrs. Passig gave a most satisfactory report of the reciepts and disbursments of the Treasury of the League of Women Voters for the year. (It is affixed to this record.)
