Minutes of Convention of the Iowa League of Women Voters, Oct 11, 12, 13, - 1923. 1922? The Iowa League of Women Voters assembled in the Fort Des Moines Hotel Wednesday Oct 11 for an informal luncheon conference. It was originally planned to have the reports of the County Chairmen given at a conference at 3:30 in the afternoon. It was later decided to adjourn the luncheon to our assembly room and there have the reports of the various county chairmen. Forty delegates present. Mrs. Florence Pierce the State President in the chair. Johnson County League reported a plan to finance the county league and to secure county wide publicity for the League of Women Voters. With the assistance of Mrs Seashore as Editor, Miss Daley as assistant Johnson County has taken the initiative, publishing quarterly a county league bulletin to be mailed free of charge to every home in the county and financed by local advertising. The bulletin is eight pages, 8 x 11 1/2 one half of the space given for advertising. The charge for this advertising for the four publications is $50. full page, $21. half page, $11. quarter page and $6. for an eighth of a page. The bulletin will be sent out as first class postage. The Johnson County League secured thirteen advertisers in six hours. These advertisers contracted for the entire year and the committee contracted with the printer for the four
