Mrs Pierce announced polls were open from eleven to one o' clock. Adjourned until 2 P.M. Mrs Pierce presiding. Motion made by Mrs McKin of Marshalltown, that no matter introduced in a convention should be acted upon the same day as presented. Motion seconded by Mrs Blanchard, carried. Telegram from Miss Hall, National League of Women Voters regarding invitation to National Board for Des Moines to entertain the National League of Women Voters was read. Mrs Mayer made motion that the Convention stand back of the next Board of Directors in whatever action they take in connection with the National Convention being held in Des Moines. Motion seconded and carried. Report of Government Efficiency. Mrs I.H. Tomlinson,chairman of Committee. Mrs Tomlinson made a motion that her report be accepted and placed on file. Carried. Mrs Pierce being part of the Legislative Committee gave short report for the Legislative Committee. A page was assigned to escort the new President to the platform. Mrs. I.H. Tomlinson was presented the gavel and the key to Headquarters of the Iowa League of Women Voters. Mrs Pierce then presented Mrs Tomlinson saying the gavel was made from a tree on the farm home of Mrs Carrie Chapman Catt in Floyd County Iowa and given by the Floyd County League of Women Voters. First Vice Pres. - Mrs Oscar Ruff of Sioux City, not present. Second Vice Pres. - Mrs Max Mayer, Iowa County, presented. Third Vice Pres. - Dr Margaret Mills, not present.
