Board Meeting of the Iowa League of Women Voters December 8/7 - 1922, 505 1/2 Shops Bldg. Pres. Mrs Tomlinson presiding. Minutes read and by motion were laid over for later consideration. A misunderstanding as to acceptance of Treasurer's report and a call for report up to date. Legislation Com. Chr, Mrs Pierce recommended that the Industrial Bill be taken up by the Industrial Council, and the League bend all its efforts on the Shepard Towner bill. Following the report and recommendation of the Legislative Com. chairman, it was moved by Mrs Ruff and seconded by Mrs Passig, that the I.L.W.Voters feels that the time is inopportune for the presentation of the maximum hour bill, and believe, active promotion of this measure be deferred. Unanimously carried. Moved by Mrs Mayer, seconded by Mrs Ruff that the League of Women Voters reccommend the re-appointmemnt of the Ann Lawther of Dubuque on the State Board of Education at the conclusion of her present term. Carried. Moved by Mrs pierce, seconded by Mrs Mayer that we endorse the attached resolution concerning the Teacher's Annuity Bill. Carried. Moved by Mrs pierce, seconded by Mrs Mayer, that we endorse the attached resolutions concerning the Physical Education. Carried. Resolved that the Iowa League of Women Voters endorse the proposed physical education bill making mandatory the teaching of physical education and health supervision and instruction in all the public elementary and secondary schools of Iowa, and pledge the support of this organization to the end that this may become a law. The Executive Com. present then adjourned for luncheon at the Younkers Tea Room. The committee attended a lecture and address on Legislative problems by Mrs Max
