In sending out the invitations for the convention pep teas, Mrs Knutson was very generously assisted by Mrs Tomlinson, Mrs Passig, Mrs Mayer and Mrs Hunter. Between 400 & 500 invitations were sent out to the convention chairmen and their committee members for tea on Thursday March 29th 1923. Des Moines women came to our pep- convention tea fully 250 strong. Our newly arranged room adjoining Headquarters was crowded to its capacity. The State Officers in the receiving line included Mrs Tomlinson, Mrs Max Mayer, Mrs Knutson, Mrs Passig, Mrs Ella Mc Kin of Marshalltown and Mrs Hunter. The guests were introduced by State President Mrs Tomlinson, Mrs Passig, Mrs Mrs Mayer, Dr. Dickey local convention chairman of the National Convention of the League of Women Voters and many of the committee chairman told of their work in a very interesting manner. Mrs Fred Hunter chairman of the program com. brought a sample of the convention program. There was not a dull moment and the spirit of friendship and good cheer was evident on every hand. Refreshment of frappee and delicious chocolate wafers were served. The rooms were prettily decorated with ferns. On Friday Afternoon March 30th the Legislative ladies of the 40th General Assembly and former members of the Legislative Ladies League were received by the State Board and Mrs Byron [Newbeny?] of Strawberry Point, President of the Legislative Ladies League introduced the guests. Short speeches of welcome & reports were given by Mrs Tomlinson, Mrs max Mayer, Mrs Passig Dr. Dickey Mrs Hunter & Mrs Knutson
