Friday Afternoon, October 26, 1923. Convention called to order by the President, Mrs Tomlinson. Appointment of Auditory Com. Mrs Wolf, Charles City, Mrs Cohen Des Moines, Mrs Van Alstine, Gilmore City. Report of the Treasurer, Mrs Passig. Mrs Tomlinson pays tribute to the State Treas Report of the Treasurer of the Treasurer of the Convention. Mrs Hunter gave this report for Mrs Jackson. Motion prevailed to send Mrs Jackson a vote of thanks for her work as Treas for the National Convention held in Des Moines April 9-14-1923. Mrs Ruby Tillmont spoke to the subject of Iowa Child Labor Laws. Mrs Florence P. Pierce as chairman of the Legislative Com. reported a recommended a Legislative Program. In speaking of the privilege of women sitting in the General Assembly the notice must be published in a newspaper of the largest circulation in every Congressional Dist. The bill passed again by the next General Assembly and submitted to the people. Motion made by Mrs Dante Pierce to see to the passing of the Hange-Graham Bill & to watch the special session , Seconded by Mrs Max Mayer - Carried. Report of the work done by the Legislative Com. on International Co-operation to Prevent War. Miss Opal Ralston gave an announcement about play ground legislation. Mrs Pirie Beyer gave a wonderful talk in Immigration in favoring a selective method of our immigrants, advocating teaching more of the foreigners
