Rue Des Alpes 3-5 Geneve May 3, 1929 Dearest Anne, We were happy to get within the past week or so two letters from you - the one while you and Bob were still in training; the other from home. We also were delighted in the same letters with one from Bob and one from Mother; and with birthday letters from Fritz, John and from Mae and niece Ruth. Business seems to be picking up - but please keep up the good work. It is still some months before we get home - and the longer that we are away the more anxious we are for news. Not that time doesn't go quickly, for it really does most of the time; but it may be that we get more homesick. Europe is much more restful than the East both Far and near, but it is not nearly so interesting or picturesque or colorful. I could very easily get bored here, I'm afraid, but that may be due to the weather. It is rainy and cloudy and cold most of the time. The heat was turned off here the day after we came but we have a fireplace which sometimes burns. It throws out enough heat to keep us comfortable if we sit close enough to the blase and if Van can "kid it along enough. Van has been attending the disarmament sessions of the league the past week.
