have been doing some writing. It is impossible to paint without sunshine and without physical comfort. The writing keeps me busy but otherwise there is so little to do here. The lake is pretty and the mountains round about remind in of home in some ways, but otherwise there is so little to do in Switzerland at this time of year. Since our trip isn't a pleasure trip we are foregoing mountain excursions and extensive travelling in Switzerland. Some day we shall have to do it more thoroughly, perhaps. But it is not so different from home (Colorado) We shall be here until the 14th of May when we go on to Lyons for a day and then to Paris. We shall not come back to Switzerland again but shall go on to Germany from France. We are both feeling much better and really fine again. Van seems to be improving tremendously within the past week - in fact he seems to be regaining his youth. It makes me feel much happier because I can't help but be influenced and reflect his feelings. Van is meeting a great many influential people from all corners of the world. He was out to lunch day before yesterday; we were out to
