One, two, three, four cake. 1 cup of butter 2 " " sugar 3 " " flour 4 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1/2 teaspoon soda Cup Cake. (Maria's) 1 heaping cup of butter 2 cups of sugar 3 1/2 " " flour 1/2 " " milk 1 teaspoonful cream tartar 1/2 " soda 6 eggs with 2 whites left out. Ellen's Sponge Cake. Break 2 eggs into a cup, and fill the cup with cream - add 1 cup of sugar and one heaping cup of flour if the cream is sour, 1/2 teaspoon of soda - if sweet, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar and 1/2 " of soda.
