[illegible]. Warm & nice. but today it has clouded up & looks like rain. have had no rain here yet this Spring. tho a good hard shower would help settle the ground much. I [illegible] Raspberry Roots in the garden so that [name?] can have some. tho I want to bring at least 500 with us [illegible] for all we can with with us. Such things as Raspberries Strawberries & such like are mighty "scace" about these parts & we must bring a good supply of Roots we will make up a good sized Box of them -- [name?] has a chance to go right to work at his [illegible] soon a he has a mind to do so. but he wants to look about some. Suppose he can tell better after he looks around a little. Just read another letter from Pitt [Ceravast?] he is very tired of [place?] & will leave there soon. perhaps to [illegible] here -- I was to church today with [illegible] don't hardly know but I am "pious" you see, there is a Methodist Church to build here soon. heh! its well enough after all to encourage churches so long as one is in the [illegible] trade hows that? Why the devil don't [illegible] you write him at once & tell him I want the money now. he is a [illegible] he don't come here this Spring with his Stock & start a [living?]. he could work all his heavy teams on the R.R. at $4. a day all Summer if he wanted to do so. but he could do better than that. Will write you again in a day or three days
