I read portions of your letters aloud to the assembled family including one guest, Aunt Ella, & we had a big laugh at your account of this "episode" and of the figure Mahala must have cut-in Mrs. Shinner's under garments. Papa enjoyed it especially as he is an ardent admirer of her ladyship. Am sorry I didn't see her. Aiden has a vivid recollection of her and carries her "autograph letter" as a souvenir. It amused me to see how she discouraged his attempt to open a religious controversy. Oh, I must tell you what an efficient assistant I have for the
