July, 1902. 
Sun. 27. Very fair day; about 84 or 6. All at ch. morn & evg. - C.P's with us as usual. morn & the M.E.'s also, evg. Keeping as quiet as possible, with back-ache; but had two hard jobs at ushering. 
Mon. 28. Glorious morn. Fine day. Office as usual. Feeling some better. Mowed (east) after supper Mtg. of church officers until 10 P.M.
Tuesday. 29. Fine morning. Fair day; & hot. 83º - not feeling well. Enwistle hoed garden P.M. Wrote cousin Clara. Home evg.
Wed. 30. Beautiful morn; Fair weather & quite hot, about 90º P.M. mowed before supper outside. Church election evg. adjourned 1 wk. because of severe thunder storm before 8.
Thurs. 31. Cloudy morn. Clearing; Fair P.M. and cooler S. school R.R. picnic to Waterville, 5 couches. Charlotte staid in office & girls & I went. Feeling sick, evg.
Sat. 2. Thunder shower in night, beautiful morning. Fair day, largely cloudy, 92º & very sultry. Mowed E. part before supper. Shower late evg., gentle.
