June, 1918 Sun. 9 Fair morn.; clouded; 83°. Fair P.M. Clara & I at church morn. - Mr. [Shane? Bumbain? dram?] team took C.& me to cemetery p.m. & around by [townline?]road. Mon. 10 Cloudy & dripping fog A.M.; fairing p.m. Garden morn. & evg. Got up to about 80, or over. Sowed tomatoes seed [illegible] Tues. 11 Cloudy morn., clearing S.W. to N.W. wind and dust, but Mer. reached 90°. Garden till most 10. - Office 1 hr + evg. Mower fixed $1.00 Wed. 12 Clear & cool, N.W. 79°. Garden till 9; & evg. till 9 also. Thurs. 13 Fair, S.W. 79 or 80°. Garden till 10:30; Fri. 14 Fair & dry & warm. Good corn weather Garden morn & evg. as usual. Ex. Pres. Taft addressed the H.S. grads. - & gave a short talk from [ants?] Sat. 15 Fair & dusty, & windy not quite so warm. Garden & office as usual. Picking a box (or 1 1/2) strawberries daily.
