January, FRIDAY, 22, 1864 arose about daylight fed & tryed to open [pipe?] at barn but failed. fixed sled ready to go to church fed & started about dusk banon preached from [the?] troubled yet carless ones, ret. about 1/2 past 11 Pleasant cold nite SATURDAY, 23. are past daylight fed H. [Coongr?] was here & bargened for Uncles poltry We started to newark about 11 but for corse boots for $3.25 Went down in sleigh Warm to day snow melted about off in road ret about 10 SUNDAY, 24. Arose after daylight-fed Dave Coffman & Jane came last nite Went home this morn [seat?] advocate, fed early & went to church at nite a exelant sermon by Wise of newark from the times of this ignorance God winked at but now calls on all men every where to repent ret at 11
