January, MONDAY, 25, 1864 arose after daylight fed made hog shed put straw in pen + made coup to put poltry in it has thawed very fast yesterday + today quite muddy. Dale [moved?] here to day ret about 9 TUESDAY, 26. arose a little after daylight fed choped Wood finished fixing straw, + worked at sheep racks Uncle went to Louisville got nails. A plesant day creek up pretty high. ret about 9 (cached chickens to nite). WEDNESDAY, 27. arose at daylight. Fed cached chickens. Made sheep racks a pleasant day frose last nite ret about 8
