February, SATURDAY, 27, 1864. arose about sun rise made pen for sheep at stable. Dave Coffman came Uncle went away with him & to mill. I put straw in [shack?] &c. not very well to nite. a warm cloudy day thunder this morn retired about 9 SUNDAY, 28. arose after day light fed & tented home about 10 a very cloudy morn found folks all well read letters from Hiram & Frank. John joined church last week. rain & hail this eve ret about 9 MONDAY, 29. arose about 1/2 past 6. fed fixed racks, doctored lamb & wheeled wood to shed about [A.M.?] 1 1/2 in. of snow fell last nite. Davison split wood. Uncle went to see Dan this eve a coolish day ret about 25 m past 9
