May, FRIDAY, 27, 1864. up at roll call washed at spring. They telegraphed to Dan Hank to come to John this morn, rain last night, detailed on Provost guard stationed at Prison, wrote this in house Top of Town hall, warm day. Wrote letter to Hiram, on third relief, commenced letter to Frank SATURDAY, 28. of guard at 9. read, slept &c warm day, got [?] of guard at eve. I get letter from home. a cool night SUNDAY, 29. up at roll call detailed on provost guard, at correl no 2, an 9 relief Dan Hank got here at 5 A.M., warm day, I am tired hearing the swearing & wickedness of teamsters & soldiers read tracts &c a warm day, our train captured at [?] town to night.
