9:30 p.m. Labor Day 1942 [Sept 6] Dearest: I have four hours to fill until Train Time and since I expect to be busy the rest of the week it seems a good idea to try getting the meeting notes into shape and to write you. You wanted to know, of course, Jack Diamond's conclusions; and while they were interesting, he didn't tell me a thing I did not guess, suspect or know more thoroughly than he - hampered by the dictates of decency - could tell me.
