Lacona Iowa Dec. 14th/73 Mr J. B. McDill Pt. Louisa Ia. Yours of a short time since came to hand All O.K. Mortgage, note & Balance in return please find enclosed Mr Dobbs notes of $5.00 & if you will notice the date you will see how much Interest is due if he has not paid it mention it when you see him if he pays it all right & If he dont all right All the folks are well as common Mother came from Desmoines yesterday Tom & wife are in good health & seem to be enjoying themselves I have been makeing my home with them since October & guess I shall untill spring I expect to commence teaching in the morning will have about 40 scholars to attract my attention & keep me in amusement for 3 months. We have splendid sleighing at present. times are dull & close give my best respects to Friends & I remain yours Respectfully John M. Pressly Excuse pencil in absence of ink.
