Ther. Tuesday Jan. 3, 1888 Wea. Pleasant & less cold. All about as usual with our folks, & spending day much same, tho' think Rosa- didn't get out at all, with of course enough to keep her busy. Much same self & spending day much same, but we do realize deficiencies & hope to improve somewhat yet, but almost discouraged sometimes. Geo. rec'd photos &c from Ellery. Ther. Wedneday 4 Wea. Cloudy, but mild, with threatenings of storm of some kind. Much same with our folks & guess spending day much as usual. As well self after good nights rest, & spending day much as usual, for sewing was at turning sheet for change. Much wish self more capable, as once was. Learn there is some crossing Mississippi on ice now.
