Thursday, Aug 2, 1888 Warmer again, but breezy & quite pleasant. Much as usual with our folks think occupied much same, tho' perhaps Charlotte was using sewing machine more. Presbyterian s-school having Bic-Nic N- of town made little more circulation up this way thro' day. As well self & spending day much as usual, Estelle Pratt in to sit with me awhile P.M. Mrs Purdy & Mrs Rockwell visiting Mrs B- Friday 3 Cooler this A.M. after quite a shower early in morn, & pleasant day. About same with our folks & busy as ever certain. Ellery spoke of Dr I Hedge's being very sick this morn, & later learned of his death, suddenly of "heart disease." Much same self, busy at odd jobs & repairing, with usual chores & knitting, enjoyed short visit from little girls first P.M. & was in at Mrs Brayton's awhile later, she & grandma rather poorly.
